Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well. We will be introducing the PPS “No Bag Policy,” this
message should provide additional instruction for the following:
➢No Bag Policy
To enhance safety and expedite entry, Plainfield Public School District no longer allows bags,
backpacks, or large purses into our athletic venues. This measure will help us streamline security
checks and ensure a quicker entry process. Please note that small personal items such as a
handheld purse, wallets, phones, and keys are permitted, but subject to search, so please consider
scaling down on what you bring to school events. Contained within this correspondence you will
find examples of “Approved” and “Non-Approved” bags. Kindly review and adhere to this
policy.
➢Security Screenings
To further ensure the safety of our spectators and participants, we will be implementing a security
screening upon entrance to our athletic events. This process will entail a member of our security
staff using metal detectors to screen individuals for prohibited items.

Superintendent of Schools
Rashon K. Hasan, Ed. S.
Board of Education Commissioners

Hanae M. Wyatt, President | Victor L. Webb, Jr., Vice President

Eric J. Andrews | Azim A. Gray | Pat Hembree | Terence J. Johnson | Sincere Malone | ShonTé Smith | Sarah B. Virgo
➢Please be advised that you will not be able to enter the game with any of the items listed herein:
o Outside Food and/or Drink
o Air Horns, Noisemakers, etc.
o Signage or displays not previously approved by school administration
o Powder
o Alcoholic Beverages
o Smoking Products
o Pets
➢Items such as: bleacher chairs, medical bags, diaper bags, umbrellas, blankets, and clutch bags
will be subject to search and deemed approved or not approved on site. Parents caring for infants
and others with very serious medical complications may bring them in a bag; however, they are
subject to search. Should the bag or item not be approved, the individual will be asked to return
the bag and its contents to their vehicle. No personal items will be put to the side or stored during
the game. Please be advised that all spectators are subject to search when entering the stadium.
We recognize that these changes may be an initial inconvenience; however, they are essential to
ensuring the safety and security of all attendees. Again, we are asking patrons to limit their personal
effects and arrive early at the contest. Gates will now open for home football contests at 5:00 PM to
ensure our guests can see the opening kickoff.
We thank all patrons in advance for their anticipated cooperation and look forward to welcoming all
guests in celebration and support of our student-athletes.
